Roger Looker
Roger Looker was educated at Dulwich College and Bristol University before qualifying as a barrister. In 1977 he joined County Bank (which subsequently became NatWest Markets) where he spent 8 years, latterly as Senior Vice-President in New York.

In 1986 he and Tim Seymour founded Gilbert Elliot Corporate Finance, which later became part of the private banking group, Rea Brothers, where he was a Director and significant shareholder until its acquisition by Close Brothers in 2000. Roger and Tim founded Stafford in 2001.

In 1985 Roger was co-founder, and later Deputy Chairman, of Grosvenor Inns which became the public company Slug and Lettuce and was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1992. In 1997 he led the buy-out of the unbranded estate of Slug and Lettuce by the Ambishus Pub Company, which itself obtained an AIM quote in 1998. He has held Directorships in a number of other listed public companies, including the Chairmanship of the environmental services company, RPS Group. He is also a significant investor in and/or Director of a portfolio of private companies.

Roger was a member of the Financial Reporting Review Panel from 1995 to 1997.

Roger was Chairman of the Harlequin Football Club for 10 years until 1997. He played rugby for Harlequins and the Barbarians and water polo for England.
